Privacy Policy
Sodalyte is a macOS task management application (tasks, calendar, habits, deep focus, and timers) designed to work primarily on-device and with accessibility in mind.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sodalyte handles information when you use the app.
1) Summary
- No accounts. Sodalyte does not require logins.
- No analytics or tracking. We do not run analytics, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
- No server collection. Sodalyte does not transmit your task data to Sodalyte-controlled servers.
- On-device by default. Your content is stored locally on your Mac.
- Optional permissions. Some features use optional permissions (location for a task, calendar read-only access, notifications), which you control.
2) Information you provide and where it is stored
A) App content (stored locally)
The content you create in Sodalyte, such as tasks, notes, habits, schedules, focus sessions, and timer settings, is stored locally on your device in Sodalyte's app storage.
Sodalyte does not require you to provide personal identifiers to use the app.
B) Permissions and on-device access (optional)
Depending on what you enable, Sodalyte may access the following on your device:
1. Location (optional, user-initiated):
If you choose to attach a location to a task, Sodalyte may access your device's location for that feature. Location data is stored locally with the relevant task. Sodalyte does not transmit this data to Sodalyte-controlled servers.
2. Calendar (read-only, optional):
If you grant permission, Sodalyte may read calendar event information from macOS calendars to help you view or align tasks with your schedule. Sodalyte does not modify your calendars. Calendar information remains on-device and is not transmitted to Sodalyte-controlled servers.
3. Notifications (local notifications for reminders):
If you enable reminders, Sodalyte schedules local notifications on your device. Local notifications are delivered by your device and do not require Sodalyte to operate a server. Notification content is generated from your tasks and settings on-device.
3) Information we do not collect
Sodalyte does not collect or transmit to Sodalyte-controlled servers:
- Analytics events, telemetry, or usage profiling
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Your tasks, notes, habits, or timer/focus data
- Calendar content (beyond on-device read-only access if you grant it)
- Crash reports sent to Sodalyte
Sodalyte also does not access contacts, photos, camera, microphone, Bluetooth, local network, or clipboard based on the current app design.
4) Purchases
If you purchase Sodalyte through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the payment and provides us with limited purchase-related information needed to operate the App Store transaction (for example, confirmation that a purchase occurred). We do not receive your payment card details. Apple's handling of App Store purchases is governed by Apple's own policies.
5) Sharing and disclosure
Because Sodalyte is designed to operate locally and does not transmit your app content to Sodalyte-controlled servers, we do not share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
We may disclose information only if required to comply with applicable law or a valid legal process, to the extent we can do so based on information in our possession.
6) Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it.
Clear / delete: Sodalyte provides an in-app option to clear your data, which deletes locally stored app data from Sodalyte's app storage on that device.
7) Security
We rely on macOS security features, app sandboxing, and your device protections to help safeguard locally stored data.
8) Children
Sodalyte is rated 4+ on the Mac App Store and is not designed to collect personal data. If you are a parent/guardian and have concerns, contact us at legal@sodalyte.com.
9) International users
Sodalyte is distributed globally via the Mac App Store. Sodalyte's current design is primarily local and does not transmit your task data to Sodalyte-controlled servers. If future versions introduce online features, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe what data is processed and where.
10) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, through an in-app notice or in release notes).
